Word Define Project (3-28-11)
I wanted to make the blonde woman the center of attention because that look says it all! Killer death glare! So I cropped and made a black/white background. I think it works well.
Here is the novelty font. I used a basic script font. I made a few playful highlights and cropped and lowered the opacity of some glitter images. I really wanted this to have an old timely feel.

Rough Draft Ideas for CD
I chose the font Palatino. All of the parts for the CD is 5x5 inches. My idea is to build a pop up CD case. Although I couldn't find a proper template for my idea I figured to go ahead and just build one of my own. After all we are designers...Who needs silly ol' templates anyway ( I hope it works lol).
The theme of the project was to have a maze running all over the CD. I found a basic sketch( through google) and darkened certain areas and used some filtering magic/gradients to build texture along the maze. I wanted the letters of Palatino to run like mice in the maze. The inside pop up flap has the designer's name (Hermann Zapf). I wanted to use a red like to direct your eyes through the maze, as an end result you see the name. The 200 word information will be in what I like to call cutouts/ holes in the maze.
For both pop up flaps I will use the same technique to put more information. On the other pop up I am going to put my CD in it. So when you pull down the tab information will pop up and the CD will come down. My Color palet I chose was black, white, and a deep red. I think they set a much darker tone for my CD. That is all I have so far, I will upload my sketches too.
